Stop At: Cameron Highlands, Cameron Highlands, Pahang

Cameron Highlands is a hill resort with cool temperatures and has large tea plantations, farmlands, nurseries, orchards, lakes. waterfalls, aborigines. It was discovered by British Geologist Sir William Cameron in 1885. Visit a tea plantation that works closely with WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) in animal conservation. It is a wonderful experience to sip tea perched on an elevated tea cafe to catch a bird’s eye view of the lush carpet of greenery below. Butterflies and stick insects, beetles, scorpions, snakes can be seen live at Butterfly Farm. The stroll to the marketplace will showcase fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers grown in the Camerons. Due to the cool weather, the best selling dinner would be HOT POT. Check in to hotel. Traffic jams in Camerons unavoidable.

Stop At: Taman Negara National Park, Taman Negara National Park

Rainforest Taman Negara is 130 million years old and home of tigers, bears, elephants, tapirs, 14,000 flowering plants 300 bird species. On arrival at Kuala Tahan, lunch at Floating Cafe and walk up the Canopy Walkway for a bird’s eye view of the rainforest. Fridays Canopy closed. The boatman negotiates 7 sets of rapids to reach an aborigine village to watch fire making skills and blowpipe hunting techniques. They live care free lives and the rainforest is their supermarket. Nature guide will belt out facts on medicinal and poisonous plants not forgetting aphrodisiacs. After dinner, join Nature Guide for a Jungle walk to spot civet cats, snakes, insects and watch nocturnal animals come for their salt lick. If you are lucky you may sight mouse deer, scorpions, snakes, spiders, even wild boars and black panther. Return to hotel and the Forest Orchestra plays on.

Kuala Lumpur is a tin mining settlement with Tudor and Moorish designed colonial buildings built by the British who gave us Independence on 31 August 1957. The iconic Batu Caves is a must visit tourist spot and climb 272 steps into the temple of Hindu Deity.
Devotees fulfill their vows during “Thaipusam” . The famous Independent Square boasts of colonial buildings like Sultan Abdul Samad, the oldest mosque the Jamek Mosque, Old Railway Station, St Mary’s Church and the Clubhouse. Drive past the National Mosque, bustling Chinatown and Little India. Also visit the Pewter and Batik Factory for an educational tour.

Stop At: Penang Island, Penang Island, Penang

Penang Island is a UNESCO listed Heritage City with much history and colonial landmarks. Sir Francis Light founded Penang in 1786 when he first landed at Fort Cornwallis. Penang is a high tech manufacturing entity, giving trade incentives for foreign investors. After lunch take a trishaw ride through Georgetown – capital city of Penang and visit Sleeping Buddha. The Clan Jetty has much history. Drive through Georgetown and drop off at Batu Feringghi – the happening Beach front with water sports, dining options, nite markets and luxury hotels overlooking the sea. You will enjoy undisturbed relaxation and fun with the sun sea and sand at your beck and call.

Stop At: Melaka, Melaka, Central Melaka District, Melaka State

Malacca is a UNESCO Heritage City and a melting pot of history. Visit St Peter’s Church, Kampong Morten – the oldest traditional Malay Village with old artifacts sitting snugly in the heart of Malacca Town. The Stadthuys was home of the Dutch Governor now the State Museum. A Famosa was the fort built by the Portuguese and what remains is the Gateway – a European architectural marvel.
Take a Trishaw ride to Jonkers’ Street where 15th Century Chinese migrants created history by marrying into our local women. This street is also known as the Street of Antiquities as all kinds of everything can be found here. A walkabout through this street is a must.
