What makes From Singapore: Private Kuala Lumpur / Malacca tour + SKY DINING a unique experience ?
Begin with an early morning pickup at your Singapore hotel.
Our trained driver will meet you at the hotel driveway to check your documents before escorting you through immigration via the Malaysia drive-through border (no standing-in-line).
After clearing immigration, your English-speaking guide will settle you into the comfortable seats of your private, air-conditioned minivan to enjoy the 4-hour chauffeured drive to Malaysia’s capital – Kuala Lumpur.
Along the way to Kuala Lumpur, your driver will make 2 stopovers.
The 1st stopover will be at a highway rest area near Malacca, where Starbucks/Costa Coffee and western-style toilets are available (toilet paper available upon request).
The 2nd stopover (with effect from 31 July 2024) will be at a 5-star Marriott/Mövenpick Hotel, where guests can enjoy a premium western breakfast (or traditional Malay breakfast upon request).
IMPORTANT: Guests who booked the “Malacca side trip” option will be provided an extra UNESCO Melaka highlights tour (Dutch Square, A Famosa Fort, St. Paul’s Hill & Church, Middelburg Bastion, UNESCO Wall Art, St. Francis Xavier Church, Jonker Street, 15-minute Trishaw Ride), before proceeding to Kuala Lumpur.
Upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur, one of the first stops will be Batu Caves. The limestone forming Batu Caves is said to be around 400 million years old. Batu Caves was founded by K. Thamboosamy Pillai, an Indian trader in 1891, as a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Murugan. A 42.7-metre high gold-painted statue of Lord Murugan was unveiled in January 2006, having taken 3 years to construct. It is the tallest Lord Murugan statue in the world.
IMPORTANT: The order of sightseeing stops may be rearranged depending on actual Kuala Lumpur city traffic, crowd management, and weather conditions to optimize time usage.
Located near Batu Caves is the Sri Durgai Amman Temple, dedicated to Goddess Durga, often regarded as the most powerful female Hindu deity – often depicted with 8 or 10 hands.
As a symbol of the triumph of good over evil, Goddess Durga is portrayed in mythology as a warrior who vanquishes the demonic powers that threaten the social order, economic well-being, and dharma.
In this temple, Goddess Durga is represented as a stunning woman riding a lion, her numerous hands armed with weapons to vanquish evil spirits.
In essence, Goddess Durga’s multiplicity of arms embodies her role as an all-powerful and fiercely protective goddess.
30 minutes drive from Batu Caves is the Istana Negara (National Palace). It is the official residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the monarch of Malaysia. The palace complex has an area of 97.65 hectares, 22 domes, and is split into three main portions: the Formal Component, Royal Component and Administration Component.
Next stop after the National Palace is the famous National Monument, locally known as Tugu Negara. It is a historic bronze sculpture that pays tribute to those who died in combat during Malaysia’s battle for freedom against the Japanese occupation during World War II and the Malayan Emergency from 1948 till 1960. It serves as a remembrance of the bravery, courage and unity of the fighters who laid down their lives for Malaysia’s independence. The statue has earned its place in the book of records as the tallest freestanding group of bronze sculptures at 15-meter high.
10 minutes drive from the National Monument is the Central Market. The market was originally founded in 1888, refurbished into its current Art Deco style in 1937.
While at the Central Market, your guide can bring you to the famous Royal Selangor gift shop. Each Royal Selangor cast pewter consists of 92% to 97% tin, which is the highest international standard for pewter, with a small proportion of copper and antimony added to strengthen the alloy.
10 minutes drive from the Central Market is the Independence Square (Merdeka Square). This is the historical place where the Union flag was lowered and the national flag was raised for the very first time at the struck of midnight of 31st August 1957.
From the Independence Square, you will have a vantage view of the Independence Tower, locally known as Merdeka 118. Topped with a massive 160-meter spire, the tower is still under construction.
When completed in end 2023/early 2024, it will be the world’s second-tallest structure, surpassing the Tokyo Skytree at 634 meters.
From the Independence Square, you will have a vantage view of the Sultan Abdul Samad building, which is among Kuala Lumpur’s earliest Moorish-style buildings. It was built in 1897 and was named after the reigning sultan of Selangor at the time. The distinguished landmark originally served as the offices for the colonial British administration and the superior courts of Malaysia.
From the Independence Square, you will have a vantage view of the Royal Selangor Club. The club was founded in 1884 and originally served as a meeting place for high ranked and educated members of the British colonial society. Selangor is the name of the state in which the capital – Kuala Lumpur is located.
Next, your English-speaking guide will bring you to Menara Kuala Lumpur (KL Tower) to head up together to the observation deck to marvel at the many iconic landmarks of Kuala Lumpur, followed by a sky dining experience at the revolving restaurant.
Upon request, your guide can bring you into the base of the Petronas Twin Towers for a photostop of the famous Mercedes-AMG F1 car replica. The Petronas Twin Towers are currently the world’s tallest twin structures.
IMPORTANT: Guests who wish to upgrade their Kuala Lumpur KL Tower observation deck tickets to include Petronas Twin Towers skybridge, please upgrade* using the link on the booking confirmation voucher (note: at least 12 hours before departure for guaranteed upgrade*)
Next, your English-speaking guide will bring you to Thean Hou Temple, which was completed in 1987. It is a six-tiered temple of the Goddess of the Sea (Mazu). You can also find the Goddess of Mercy (Guanyin) and Protector of the Sea (Shui Wei Niang Niang) here.
