This is a unique opportunity to visit a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Colin hosts this experience in his cooking studio, which is located inside a bicycle tour shop. You will pass through bicycles before entering his well-lit, perfectly organized cooking studio space, colorfully decorated with pastel pots and a mural. During your 1.5-hour hands-on Singapore cooking class, Colin will teach you how to make three Singaporean dishes from scratch. You can expect a hands-on experience with Colin first demonstrating some of the steps before giving you a chance to try everything yourself. You will first start by making the dessert, nonya kueh dadar, a pandan flavored crepe with grated coconut. Next you will make the appetizer, ngoh hiang, dicing all the ingredients and mixing them with the minced meat, then wrapping the stuffing with a dried bean curd skin. Finally, Colin will share with you his family recipe for nyonya laksa (a spicy seafood noodle dish cooked in coconut curry).

Sample Menu

• Ngoh Hiang – a five spiced meat roll mixed with water chestnuts, carrots, garlic, shallots and spring onions, wrapped in bean curd skin
• Nyonya Laksa – a spicy seafood noodle dish cooked in coconut curry
• Nonya Kueh Dadar – a dessert made from fragrant pandan crepe and grated coconut filling steeped in palm sugar
