Why choose this Singapore tour ?

The Zebra Urban Safari Bicycle Tour with local dinner is a 3.5 hour tour along Singapore’s park connectors designed to showcase the awesome cycling network (PCN) our government has built in recent years. It is our ambition to provide travelers with the experience of a lifetime through exploring Singapore’s natural and urban beauty on the wheels of a foldie bike.

Our Western Tour goes along East Coast Park, past Marine Cove and Parkland Green all the way to Gardens by the Bay East. From there, the majestic skyline of the Marina Bay Financial District comes into view. We pass the Marina Barrage, then turn around onto the park connector through Tanjong Rhu, Dakota, Paya Lebar, and back to Store Friendly Centre.

Along the way we stop to savor a local dinner with drinks. This might be Katong Laksa, 5-Star Hainanese Chicken Rice or other local delicacies at Marine Parade Food Centre. Singapore is a food paradise and there is definitely something delicious to try for anyone and everyone!

What makes Zebra Urban Safari Bicycle Tour with Local Dinner and Drinks a unique experience ?

East Coast Park is one of Singapore’s most treasured urban getaways, offering an invigorating and exciting diversity of sporting, dining and recreational activities. With the theme “Recreation for All”, the park has an activity for everyone.

East Coast Park is built entirely on reclaimed land with a man-made beach, where swimming is possible. The beach is protected by breakwaters.

The park has a total land size of 185 hectares, and a scenic coastline that stretches over 15 km, and attracts a visitorship of more than seven million a year.

The Marina Barrage is a dam in Singapore built at the confluence of five rivers. It provides water storage, flood control and recreation. The S$3 billion project turns Marina Bay and Kallang Basin into a new downtown freshwater Marina Reservoir – the country’s 15th – with a catchment area that spans a whopping 10,000 hectares.

The Marina Barrage plays an important part in helping to alleviate flooding. During periods of heavy rain, a series of nine crest gates will be opened to release excess storm water into the sea when the tide is low. When the tide is high, seven giant pumps that are capable of pumping one Olympic-sized swimming pool per minute whirr into action, draining water into the sea.

The facility is also a showcase for Singapore’s push to be a greener country. The Solar Park, for instance, features one of the largest collections of solar panels in Singapore, with over 400 panels providing electricity needed for lighting at the barrage during the day.

Starting at Tanjong Rhu Bridge along Sungei Geylang, the Tanjong Rhu Promenade leads you along the water’s edge of Marina Reservoir before bringing you to its endpoint at Gardens by the Bay (Bay East), where stunning views of the Bay South Garden and the Singapore city skyline await you. The promenade plays host to a variety of sporting and recreational activities including dragon boat and kayaking at Kallang Basin and kite-flying and football at the open fields along Tanjong Rhu View and Tanjong Rhu Place.

Paya Lebar is a neighborhood in the Eastern region of Singapore. Once a large swampy piece of land close to the Kallang River, the area’s name was derived from the Malay words “Paya” meaning “swamp”, and “Lebar” meaning “wide”. It was once known to be a notorious squatter district and many of its inhabitants worked as pig and poultry farmers.

Nowadays, the area includes both old heritage buildings as well as new malls and complexes that have sprung up in recent years. The neighborhood is conveniently serviced by public bus routes and Paya Lebar MRT.
